On October 26, 2024, Cherfilus-McCormick expressed her enthusiasm for speaking at FITCE, highlighting Florida's strategic role as a trade gateway between the United States, Africa, and the Caribbean. She emphasized Broward County's central position in advancing global trade. "It was an honor to speak at FITCE! Florida is a gateway for trade between the US, Africa, and the Caribbean, and Broward County is at the heart of it all. Together, we’re driving global trade forward!"

Later that day, she announced positive news regarding public safety funding for local authorities. The Broward Sheriff's Office received a $200,000 grant aimed at supporting safety exercises to prepare police and fire departments for potential disasters. Cherfilus-McCormick noted this funding would help maintain community and environmental safety. "Good news for @Browardsheriffsoffice! They received a $200,000 grant to help fund safety exercises. This grant will ensure our police and fire departments are equipped to act in case of disaster so we can continue to keep our community and environment safe."
