During a Special Commission Meeting on Monday, Nov. 21, three City of Tamarac Commission members will take the oath of office during a ceremony at City Hall. Inductees will include The Honorable Michelle J. Gomez, Mayor Re-Elect; Morey Wright, Jr., Commissioner Elect, District 2 and Dr. Kicia Daniel, Commissioner Elect, District 4.
Gomez, Tamarac’s incumbent Mayor returns for a second term in office, having previously served as the City’s District 2 Commissioner from July 2010 - November 2018. A practicing attorney by trade, Gomez has served as Tamarac’s Mayor since November 2018.
Wright and Daniel are new to public office. Wright joins the Tamarac City Commission as a technology industry executive and entrepreneur. Daniel, is a Principal, with more than two decades of experience as a Broward County Public School educator.
The induction ceremony will take place Monday, Nov. 21, at 12 p.m., in the Tamarac City Hall Commission Chamber, 7525 NW 88th Avenue. Light refreshments will follow. A live stream of the ceremony will also be available at www.Tamarac.org/Meetings.
