Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 20th District since 2022, utilized her social media platform to address concerns regarding federal employment and community safety, express gratitude towards local leadership, and underline transportation security issues through a series of tweets.

On March 27, 2025, Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick warned of the potential impacts of federal layoffs on community safety as "Federal workers like Kenneth are on the frontlines when it comes to keeping Florida families safe. The consequences of these federal layoffs could harm entire communities, especially with hurricane season right around the corner." She invited constituents to share their personal experiences with her.

In continuation of her outreach activities, on March 28, 2025, Cherfilus-McCormick discussed infrastructure with local leaders, stating "Always great to catch up with @mypompanobeach Mayor @RexHardin. Thank you for taking the time to discuss the city's infrastructure projects, and how Washington can support along the way."

Furthermore, on the same day, she expressed her views on proposed changes affecting transportation security workers. Cherfilus-McCormick wrote "TSA officers work hard to keep Americans safe when they fly. This proposal is not only an insult to the men and women who help protect our skies — it jeopardizes travelers’ safety."
