Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Florida’s 20th district, has been actively engaging with her constituents through various initiatives and statements on social media. Her recent posts highlight upcoming events, policy positions, and community achievements.

On March 19, 2025, Cherfilus-McCormick announced the return of the EmpowHER Awards Ceremony. "Back by popular demand! I will be hosting the second annual EmpowHER Awards Ceremony — to recognize the accomplishments of the women who have left their mark on our community and beyond, and the men who have supported them." She encouraged individuals to reserve their seats for this event.

The following day, March 20, 2025, she expressed concern over the potential revocation of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Venezuelans. "Revoking TPS for Venezuelans means inflicting pain on South Florida’s economy and our entire workforce." Cherfilus-McCormick is working with her Florida Democratic colleagues to urge reconsideration of this decision by the Administration.

Later that same day, she celebrated a local student's achievement in a national competition. "Nothing made me happier than congratulating Vincent from Plantation High School on winning the Congressional App Challenge for #FL20!" The app created by Vincent addresses parking challenges and has been recognized as an innovative solution.
