Later that day, she commemorated the anniversary of a pivotal moment in the civil rights movement. She honored the bravery of those who participated in the Selma march 60 years ago and emphasized the need to continue striving for equality. "60 years ago today, over 600 peaceful protesters were attacked in Selma in their fight for equality."

She warned about the negative effects these cuts could have on essential healthcare and education benefits for veterans.
