Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, representing Florida’s 20th district, shared insights and reflections on her recent activities through a series of tweets. Serving in Congress since 2022 after succeeding Alcee Hastings, Cherfilus-McCormick highlighted her engagement with constituents and addressed significant historical events and policy concerns.

On March 7, 2025, Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick posted about her active involvement during February in her district. She expressed dedication to engaging with constituents and advocating for their interests. "I had quite a busy February! During my time in the district, I spent every minute hearing from you and fighting for you."

Later that day, she commemorated the anniversary of a pivotal moment in the civil rights movement. She honored the bravery of those who participated in the Selma march 60 years ago and emphasized the need to continue striving for equality. "60 years ago today, over 600 peaceful protesters were attacked in Selma in their fight for equality."

In another tweet on March 7, she addressed potential budget cuts impacting veterans' services at the Department of Veterans Affairs. She warned about the negative effects these cuts could have on essential healthcare and education benefits for veterans. "Veterans will feel the direct consequences of such colossal cuts at the @DeptVetAffairs."
