CITY OF FORT LAUDERDALE: Traffic Advisory: Redundant Sewer Force Main Project on NE 19 Street in Bal Harbour

Sewers

City of Fort Lauderdale recently issued the following announcement.

The City of Fort Lauderdale continues to work with Murphy Pipeline to install a new 42-inch sewer force main to upgrade infrastructure, create redundancy, enhance reliability, and improve services for our neighbors. The sewer main is being installed using underground directional drilling, a process that will minimize impacts to streets, traffic, and neighbors, while helping to complete the project in less time.

The contractor plans to mobilize in Bal Harbour the week of Nov. 2, 2020 to begin the next phase of directional drilling for this project. Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday and is expected to take approximately 12 weeks. During construction, NE 19 Street will be closed to vehicular traffic between NE 22 Avenue and NE 22 Terrace. Local access will be maintained between the closures on NE 19 Street. As the project progresses through the neighborhood, the contractor will work with neighbors to maintain access to individual properties.

Please follow posted signs and drive with caution in the area. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience and cooperation as we strive to upgrade our sewer system as quickly as possible.
