On January 30, 2025, Cherfilus-McCormick described the current situation as "chaos" and reaffirmed her dedication to fighting for the needs of the American populace. She stated, "This is chaos. I will continue fighting for the American people, ensuring they have the assistance they need and deserve."

Later that day, she expressed condolences regarding a midair collision near Washington D.C.'s Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA). She wrote, "My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the devastating midair collision near DCA. I commend the first responders for their swift response. Sending strength to the families and hoping survivors are found and brought home safely."

In another tweet on January 30, Cherfilus-McCormick shared her grief over those lost in the plane crash. She attributed part of this tragedy to broader societal issues, stating "Heartbroken for the families of those lost in the DC plane crash. Praying for all affected. Blaming this tragedy on DEI is dangerous. Let’s call it what it is: White supremacy ideology. We must protect the American people, heal our nation, and empower the FAA."
