Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, representing Florida's 20th district, shared a series of statements on her social media account. These statements addressed significant events and issues including World Teachers' Day and the anniversary of a tragic event in Israel.

On October 5, 2024, Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick marked World Teachers' Day by acknowledging the dedication of teachers in shaping future generations. She expressed gratitude to teachers in her district with the message: "On World Teachers' Day, we celebrate and honor the teachers who have dedicated their lives to shaping our children's future. Thank you to our #FL20 teachers for supporting our kids and building a better generation."

Two days later, on October 7, 2024, she participated in an observance with the Jewish Federation marking one year since a deadly attack by Hamas terrorists. Reflecting on this somber anniversary, she stated: "I joined the Jewish Federation to observe the one-year anniversary of October 7. One year ago, Hamas terrorists murdered over 1,200 people and kidnapped dozens of people." She emphasized the importance of securing Israel's safety and bringing hostages home.

Later that day, Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick reiterated her stance on international security issues involving Israel. She urged continued support for Israel’s right to self-defense and efforts against antisemitism with her statement: "We must renew our commitment to supporting Israel’s right to defend itself, bring the hostages home, and combat the scourge of antisemitism."
