On March 12, 2025, Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick expressed her appreciation for meeting with the Palm Beach County School District to discuss the success of affordable school lunch programs. She highlighted the benefits of these programs by stating, "It was a pleasure meeting with @pbcsd to hear about the success of affordable school lunch programs and to meet an #FL20 student who has been able to benefit from free lunch! When our kids are well-fed, they have the fuel they need to learn and thrive in the classroom".

Later that day, she criticized House Republicans for their stance on certain welfare programs. On March 12, 2025, she tweeted about their efforts to dismantle support systems for working families.
