On March 12, 2025, Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick expressed her appreciation for meeting with the Palm Beach County School District to discuss the success of affordable school lunch programs. She highlighted the benefits of these programs by stating, "It was a pleasure meeting with @pbcsd to hear about the success of affordable school lunch programs and to meet an #FL20 student who has been able to benefit from free lunch! When our kids are well-fed, they have the fuel they need to learn and thrive in the classroom".

Later that day, she criticized House Republicans for their stance on certain welfare programs. On March 12, 2025, she tweeted about their efforts to dismantle support systems for working families. She emphasized her disagreement by saying, "House Republicans are working to dismantle the very programs that make sure working families get ahead by deeming them as 'waste' and 'entitlements.' Let’s be clear. Helping starving seniors put food on the table is never wasteful."

On March 13, 2025, Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick announced her readiness to vote alongside her Democratic colleagues in favor of a four-week funding bill aimed at protecting Medicaid and ensuring support for veterans and vulnerable populations. She conveyed this commitment through her post: "Alongside my House Democratic colleagues, I’m here in DC ready to vote for a four-week funding bill that protects Medicaid..."
