The Department of Parks and Recreation would like to notify the community of a special workshop series for teens led by Altheresa Clark, MSW, LCSW, Founder & CEO of Inspire4Purpose, LLC. Her series will be at the Hillsboro Community Center, 50 Hillsboro Technology Drive, Deerfield Beach, FL, 33441. The workshops will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022, from 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm and Friday, January 27, 2023, from 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm. Youth must be present the entire time.
In the initial workshop, youth will explore self-care tips, learn techniques to increase overall mental health, and build a self-care plan through exciting activities. The second workshop helps participants realize what stress is, increase their capacity to cope successfully with stress, understand the importance of mindfulness and discover solutions to managing stress.
This workshop is limited to teen participants. Parents/legal guardians must register youth online at www.dfb.city/registration. Please note, click on the Activities tab, scroll down to Recreation, and click on the ARP Resources, Service & Interventions for Youth & Families to register.
