District Two Commissioner Ben Preston is excited to host a special session of the Community Engagement Café on Monday, August 1, 2022, at 6 pm at the Hillsboro Technology Center located at 50 Hillsboro Technology Drive in Deerfield Beach. This session will focus on artwork to be installed at the Branhilda Richardson-Knowles Memorial Park and Cemetery.
On June 7, 2022, the Deerfield Beach Historical Society was awarded the African American Cultural and Historical Grant from the State of Florida. While a part of the grant is dedicated toward renovations to the Pioneer House, the other portion is slated for an art installation and/or new signage at the Branhilda Richardson-Knowles Memorial Park.
Community engagement is essential to gaining insight from residents on the selection of public art and the overarching message that the art should convey.
Multiple City of Deerfield Beach elected officials and City of Deerfield Beach Community Board Members may be in attendance. Dinner will be provided.
All residents are encouraged to attend. Any resident who cannot attend but would like to contact Commissioner Preston directly may do so by emailing bpreston@deerfield-beach.com.
Please RSVP to the Community Engagement Café via email to Laura Frank, Parks and Recreation, lfrank@deerfield-beach.com.
