CRA Public Art Committee Membership

6

City of Deerfield Beach recently issued the following announcement.

The City of Deerfield Beach Community Redevelopment Agency Public Art Committee is open for new membership.

Public Art is a way to bond, build and bridge communities. Public art initiatives are an excellent way to foster connections between residents, businesses, community service organizations, and their community.

At the direction of the CRA Board of Directors and in collaboration with CRA Staff, the Public Art Committee strives to enhance the community through a public art program that is forward-thinking, diverse, and inspiring. This Committee is responsible for issuing calls to artists and artist selection, developing methods for inclusive community outreach, fundraising and public art events, and public art project implementation in the CRA District.

Committee membership may include professional artists, citizens knowledgeable in the field of public art, education, or community affairs, or individuals chosen from a variety of disciplines, including landscape architecture, urban planning, education, engineering, art, or design. Experience in public art initiatives, public art projects, community outreach, and events are preferred but not required.
