Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, representing Florida's 20th district since 2022, has expressed her views on various issues through a series of tweets. The Congresswoman, who succeeded Alcee Hastings and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives, shared her thoughts on international relations, personal loss, and domestic concerns.

On March 5, 2025, Cherfilus-McCormick voiced her support for Ukraine amidst ongoing conflicts. She stated that the United States should support Ukraine in its "fight for freedom" and criticized the current administration for not standing up against Putin. "We must support Ukraine in their fight for freedom. This Administration should stand up for Ukraine, not embolden Putin."

Later that day, she expressed her condolences over the passing of Congressman Turner. She described him as a "kind man and devoted public servant" who cared deeply about his constituents. Cherfilus-McCormick extended her prayers to his loved ones and the city of Houston during this difficult time. "I am heartbroken to hear of Congressman Turner’s passing. He was such a kind man and devoted public servant who cared deeply about the people he served. I’m praying for his loved ones and Houston during this difficult time."

In another tweet posted on March 5, 2025, Cherfilus-McCormick highlighted concerns from her constituents regarding basic needs such as food security and healthcare access. She noted that recent developments have not alleviated these worries but rather intensified them. "I’ve heard directly from my constituents who are scared. They’re worried about their next meal and whether they’ll be able to see their doctor. Last night, none of their concerns were alleviated — and some are even more worried."
