City of Coral Springs recently issued the following announcement.
Residents of Coral Springs and the surrounding areas will have the chance to take a trip around the world without leaving town.
The City of Coral Springs is excited to host Worldfest on Sunday, March 6 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The free event, held on the City Hall Lawn (9500 W. Sample Rd.), will include
activities and performances that celebrate the diverse cultural makeup of Coral Springs and surrounding communities.
Of the event returning to the city, Commissioner Joy Carter said, “Coral Springs, as a community, is a rainbow tapestry of diverse cultures and heritages. The Multi-Cultural
Committee and city staff do a tremendous job planning an event that celebrated our uniqueness and showcases the best of our city’s diversity.”
This community-centered event will include live music, dance performances, games, and more. Highlighting the event is a series of cooking demonstrations where guests will be
encouraged to sample cuisines from around the world.
The main stage and dance floor will showcase performances from around the world. Headlining the event is popular local Colombian band Los Mompirris. Other acts include Capo
Capoeira Martial Arts & Acrobatics; Pure Dynamics Dance; Timanati Mexican Folk Dance; Coral Springs Chinese Cultural Association; Harmonic Motion Dance; Mariachi Voces de
America; vocalist Lily Bradford; and Colombian entertainers Chiva Bus.
The event will also feature a “Kids World” section for children of all ages to enjoy art activities and crafts depicting various cultures.
