City of Tamarac recently issued the following announcement.
Mayor, Michelle J. Gomez of Tamarac was reappointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) 2022 Transportation and Infrastructure Services (TIS) Federal Advocacy Committee. Gomez was elected to a one-year term and will provide strategic direction and guidance for NLC’s federal advocacy agenda and policy priorities.
The TIS committee is responsible for leading NLC’s policy development and advocacy on transportation connectivity. This includes federal funding, safety and innovation in all modes of transportation. It is one of NLC’s seven Federal Advocacy Committees comprised of local officials from member cities throughout the country.
This will be Gomez’s 11th year serving on the committee. As a member, she plays a key role among a diverse group of local leaders in shaping NLC’s policy positions and advocating before Congress on behalf of U.S. municipalities.
“NLC’s federal advocacy committees are a key tool for gathering insights directly from the communities that our members serve,” said NLC President Mayor Vince Williams of Union City, Georgia. “I am excited to have Mayor Gomez serve on the Transportation and Infrastructure Services committee and look forward to working with her to fulfill the promise of America’s cities, towns and villages.”
The National League of Cities is an organization comprised of city, town and village leaders focused on improving the quality of life for their current and future constituents.
