City of Sanford recently issued the following announcement.
The Sanford RiverWalk is now complete! The RiverWalk is 5 miles long and connects the City of Sanford and other communities to the 250 mile Coast-to-Coast trail from the Gulf
of Mexico to the Atlantic. Located along the pristine St. Johns River and recognized as a Florida Scenic Route, the Sanford RiverWalk is not only the most scenic bike and trail way
in Florida, it’s also the longest shoreline fishing area in Florida. The final phase of the RiverWalk was recently completed from the Central Florida Regional Hospital to I-4,
extending the RiverWalk another 2.4 miles where it connects the RiverWalk to the Seminole and Volusia County trail system, making the RiverWalk the most scenic and longest

signalized cross-walks, overlooks, lighting, traffic calming, streetscape and other walkability design features along the roadway and trail.
