Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, representing Florida’s 20th district, has shared her views on various national issues through a series of tweets. Cherfilus-McCormick, who has been serving in Congress since 2022 after succeeding Alcee Hastings, highlighted her stance on women’s rights, national security, and community service.

On March 31, 2025, Cherfilus-McCormick emphasized the ongoing relevance of Women’s History Month, stating: “Women’s History Month is not simply about the past. It is also about the ‘now’ and how we define it.” She highlighted the challenges women face, expressing concern about efforts to undermine women’s progress.

Later the same day, Cherfilus-McCormick addressed national security concerns, commenting on the potential impacts of closing USAID. She stated: “America’s national security depends on the work that USAID accomplishes every single day.” She warned against reduction in influence over global adversaries such as China, Russia, and Iran.

In a subsequent post, the Congresswoman announced her mobile office hours initiative to provide direct assistance to constituents. She said: “Join us in a city near you at our MOBILE office hours! Every week, our team is traveling around #FL20 to help.” She encouraged residents to seek help with federal agency-related issues by visiting their local stops.
