Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, representing Florida’s 20th district, recently shared her activities and thoughts on social media. Her posts highlight her efforts to engage with constituents in South Florida and celebrate local achievements.
On June 9, 2025, Cherfilus-McCormick emphasized the challenges faced by families. She stated, “There’s so much at stake for families right now.” She detailed her recent travels across South Florida as part of her “100 Stops Tour,” where she listened to community stories and advocated for local issues.
Later that day, she reiterated the importance of collective action against these challenges. In a post made on June 9, 2025, she wrote, “Families are facing so much right now—and we’re fighting back together.” She encouraged participation in the ongoing tour to build momentum for change within communities.
Cherfilus-McCormick also took time to acknowledge the achievements of Coco Gauff, a tennis player from Delray Beach. On June 9, 2025, she expressed pride in Gauff’s accomplishments by stating “From Delray Beach to the world stage, Coco Gauff continues to inspire with her grace, grit, and determination.” The Congresswoman praised Gauff for representing Florida positively on an international level.
Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick has served in Congress since replacing Alcee Hastings in 2022. Born in Brooklyn in 1979 and residing in Miramar today, she holds degrees from Howard University and St. Thomas University School of Law.
