Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, representing Florida’s 20th District, shared her thoughts through a series of tweets discussing the nation’s progress, ongoing challenges in her district, and health care accessibility.

On April 7, 2025, Cherfilus-McCormick expressed her pride in the country’s ability to overcome obstacles. Reflecting on Women’s History Month, she celebrated women who have contributed to advancements in Florida’s 20th district, acknowledging them as “trailblazers.” “The strength and beauty of our nation lies in how far we’ve come — the barriers and hurdles that we’ve overcome. To close out Women’s History Month, I had the opportunity to celebrate a group of women (and a man) who have paved the way forward for FL-20. They’re trailblazers in”

Later that day, Cherfilus-McCormick addressed the pressing cost-of-living crisis affecting her constituents. She announced an event to discuss her efforts in addressing these challenges, encouraging constituents to participate. “Right now, #FL20 communities and our nation are facing a cost-of-living crisis, from housing to groceries. Join me on Monday, April 14, to hear directly from me on how I am fighting back to address the cost-of-living crisis, and to ensure everyone can thrive here in South”

In a subsequent post marking World Health Day, Cherfilus-McCormick reiterated her commitment to accessible health care for all, emphasizing the need to protect vital programs like Medicaid and Medicare. She argued that geographical and financial factors should not dictate health care quality. “On #WorldHealthDay, I pledge to ensure every individual has access to health care. Your ZIP code or income should never determine the quality of care you receive. Here in Washington, I’ll continue to protect Medicaid and Medicare from catastrophic cuts that would hurt #FL20”
