Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick has represented Florida’s 20th District since 2022 after succeeding Alcee Hastings. She previously served in the Florida House of Representatives and has been recognized for her work both locally and nationally. Born in Brooklyn in 1979 and currently residing in Miramar at age 44, Cherfilus-McCormick holds degrees from Howard University (BA) and St. Thomas University (JD).
