Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, who represents Florida’s 20th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed a range of issues on her social media platform, including international diplomacy, domestic policy concerns, and remembrance of a significant global tragedy.
On October 6, 2025, Cherfilus-McCormick reported meeting with Haiti’s Transitional Presidential Council chairman. She stated: “Today, I met with H.E. Cherfilus-McCormick has represented Florida’s 20th congressional district since succeeding Alcee Hastings in 2022. Before joining Congress she served in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Brooklyn in 1979 and currently residing in Miramar at age 44, she graduated from Howard University with a BA in 2001 and earned her JD from St. Thomas University in 2010.
