Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, representing Florida’s 20th district, recently shared her views on various issues through a series of tweets. Her statements addressed significant topics such as Holocaust remembrance, veterans’ affairs, and her oath-taking ceremony.

On January 27, 2025, Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick acknowledged International Holocaust Remembrance Day. She stated: “Today, on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we remember the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust, alongside countless others. We must recommit ourselves to fighting antisemitism so these horrific acts never happen again.”

Later that day, she expressed concerns about veterans’ welfare under the Trump administration. She tweeted: “Instead of prioritizing the well-being of our veterans, the Trump administration is focused on targeting our minority vets and making VA less equitable. As a member of @VetAffairsDems, I will always ensure our nation’s veterans are taken care of — regardless of your background.”

The following day on January 28, 2025, Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick reflected on her oath-taking ceremony in Broward County. She wrote: “I took my oath of office in Broward County alongside @repdws and @repmoskowitz, surrounded by my family, friends, elected officials, my pastor and some of my wonderful constituents. Thank you, #FL20 for trusting me to be your voice in Washington.”
