Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, representing Florida’s 20th district, has been vocal on social media regarding several key issues affecting her constituents. Her recent tweets address proposed Medicaid cuts, healthcare services at Planned Parenthood, and community engagement through town halls.

On March 18, 2025, Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick expressed concern over a proposal by House Republicans to cut Medicaid funding by $880 billion. She emphasized the impact this would have on her district, stating “House Republicans are proposing the largest Medicaid cut – $880 billion – in the program’s history. At a time of rising health care costs, they’re attempting to take away a critical lifeline from 149,700 people in my district.” The congresswoman pledged to continue opposing these measures.

Later that day, she shared insights from a visit by her team to Planned Parenthood in West Palm Beach. In her tweet posted on March 18, 2025, she highlighted the importance of preventative cancer screenings and men’s health services offered there. She noted “Team SCM visited Planned Parenthood in West Palm Beach to learn more about the preventative cancer screenings they offer… While there, they got the chance to hear from a patient whose life was saved by a screening.”

In another post on March 18, 2025, Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick thanked residents of Royal Palm Beach for attending a town hall focused on veterans’ health care, Social Security, and food assistance. She remarked “Thank you, Royal Palm Beach, for coming out to yesterday’s town hall… I appreciated our conversations — and I look forward to bringing them right back with me to DC.”
