In a tweet posted on February 13, 2025, Moskowitz announced his leadership role alongside Representative Brian Fitzpatrick in introducing the Measures for Safer School Districts Act (MSD Act). This bipartisan legislation aims to improve emergency response protocols, enhance notification systems, and strengthen both internal and external door security at schools. “Alongside @RepBrianFitz, I’m leading the new Measures for Safer School Districts Act (MSD Act), a set of bipartisan reforms to improve emergency response, bolster notification systems, and reinforce internal and external doors at our schools.”
On the same day, Moskowitz also highlighted another piece of bipartisan legislation known as the EAGLES Act. Collaborating with Mario Diaz-Balart, this act is designed to augment the capabilities of the National Threat Assessment Center. The goal is to better track and mitigate potential school violence threats by providing local leaders with more resources for community safety. “My bipartisan EAGLES Act with @MarioDB would improve capabilities at the National Threat Assessment Center to better track, target, and mitigate school violence so local leaders have more tools to help keep their communities safe.”
