Congressman Jared Moskowitz, representing Florida’s 23rd district, has recently shared his legislative efforts and views on several issues through social media. Moskowitz, who took office in 2023 following Ted Deutch, is actively involved in addressing weather preparedness, reproductive rights, and housing challenges.
On June 6, 2025, Moskowitz announced his collaboration with Representative Mike Flood to introduce the bipartisan Weather Workforce Improvement Act. “Today, I joined @USRepMikeFlood to introduce the bipartisan Weather Workforce Improvement Act.” He emphasized the importance of this legislation during hurricane season to address staffing needs at the National Weather Service and ensure community safety.
The following day, June 7, 2025, Moskowitz commemorated the 60th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Griswold v. Connecticut decision by expressing support for legislation that aims to protect access to contraception. “It’s the 60th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Griswold v. Connecticut ruling protecting the right to access contraception.” He stressed that personal reproductive care should not be influenced by political decisions.
On June 9, 2025, Moskowitz addressed South Florida’s housing inventory crisis. “South Florida is facing a housing inventory crisis.” He acknowledged realtors’ efforts in helping families achieve homeownership but noted that further actions are needed to increase housing supply and affordability.
Jared Moskowitz has served in various political roles including as a member of the Florida House of Representatives from 2012 to 2019 and as a Broward County Commissioner from 2022 to 2023. Born in Coral Springs in 1980 and currently residing in Parkland, he holds degrees from George Washington University and Nova Southeastern University.
