Congressman Jared Moskowitz, who represents Florida’s 23rd district in the U.S. Congress, hosted the 3rd Annual Sneaker Day on the Hill this week, inviting members and staff to participate in a tradition that aims to foster camaraderie among lawmakers and staffers.
On July 21, Moskowitz announced the event via social media, writing: “It’s that time of year again! As Sneaker of the House, I cordially invite all Members and staff to our 3rd Annual Sneaker Day on the Hill! Put your best foot forward this Wednesday, July 23rd and show off your kicks with the #SneakerCaucus.”
A day later, on July 22, he posted another message containing links but no additional commentary: “https://t.co/C88z2WI1bO https://t.co/StFgGk0Hq9”.
Following the event on July 23, Moskowitz reported its success by stating: “The 3rd Annual Sneaker Day on the Hill was a success! Shoes can be stylish, they can be job creators, and days like today show that shoes can bring people together. #SneakerCaucus”.
Jared Moskowitz has served as a member of Congress for Florida’s 23rd District since replacing Ted Deutch in 2023. Before his current role in Washington D.C., he was a member of the Florida House of Representatives from 2012 to 2019 and served on the Broward County Commission between 2022 and 2023. Born in Coral Springs in 1980 and currently residing in Parkland, Moskowitz holds a BA from George Washington University (2003) and a JD from Nova Southeastern University (2007).
