Congressman Jared Moskowitz, representing Florida’s 23rd district, recently shared his thoughts on significant events through a series of tweets. Moskowitz, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress since 2023, took to social media to commemorate historical events and extend greetings for cultural celebrations.
On June 6, 2025, Congressman Moskowitz reflected on the anniversary of D-Day with a tweet that read: “Today marks 81 years since D-Day, the pivotal moment when Allied forces bravely stormed the beaches of Normandy. We will always remember the sacrifice of those who fought that day to defend our freedoms and defeat the Nazis.” This post was made at 14:15 UTC.
Later that day, at 18:48 UTC, Moskowitz extended his best wishes for Eid al-Adha with a message stating: “Eid Mubarak to everyone celebrating! May you have a blessed Eid al-Adha filled with peace and joy.”
At 19:57 UTC on the same day, he expressed solidarity with victims of gun violence by wearing orange in memory of those lost in such incidents. He tweeted: “Today we #WearOrange for the 17 innocent lives taken at my alma mater Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and the hundreds of thousands of lives lost to gun violence since then. We can never stop working to make our communities safer and protect Americans from gun violence.”
Jared Moskowitz was born in Coral Springs, Florida in 1980 and currently resides in Parkland. He graduated from George Washington University in 2003 with a BA and earned a JD from Nova Southeastern University in 2007. Before serving in Congress, he was part of the Florida House of Representatives from 2012 to 2019 and served on the Broward County Commission from 2022 to 2023.
