Jared Moskowitz, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 23rd district since 2023, recently addressed concerns over funding and operational efficiency in key government agencies through a series of tweets on May 21, 2025.
In his first tweet, Moskowitz expressed opposition to cutting funding for weather forecasting. He stated, “Cutting funding for weather forecasting doesn’t make government more efficient – it just makes Americans less safe.” He highlighted the urgency by noting that hurricane season would begin in 11 days and mentioned leading an amendment to the reconciliation bill to ensure that NOAA and the Weather Service receive necessary resources.
Later on the same day, he commented on FEMA’s importance, saying “FEMA cannot be eliminated – any sane person knows that.” He acknowledged room for reform within the agency and emphasized his leadership in legislation aimed at reducing bureaucracy and refocusing FEMA on disaster response and life-saving efforts.
Moskowitz also shared a link to an interview without additional context or commentary. The post simply read “Watch the full interview: https://t.co/Irp1pViKGf”.
