Congressman Jared Moskowitz, currently representing Florida’s 23rd district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed several issues through a series of tweets. Moskowitz, who took over from Ted Deutch in 2023 and has an extensive political background including service in the Florida House of Representatives and Broward County Commission, shared his thoughts on federal emergency declarations, his office’s achievements in constituent services, and national security concerns.
On June 2, 2025, Congressman Moskowitz expressed concern about the timeliness of federal emergency declarations during hurricane season. He stated: “We’re now in hurricane season, and we’re still not seeing federal emergency declarations being issued in a timely manner. FEMA has had challenges for a long time and needs reform, but withholding these declarations is only making recovery slower and less efficient.”
Later that day, Moskowitz shared positive news regarding his office’s efforts to assist constituents. He announced: “GREAT NEWS: My office just resolved its 5000th constituent case! Every day, we’re working hard to help the people of Broward and Palm Beach Counties reclaim their hard-earned tax refunds, access their Social Security benefits, secure their passports on time, and a whole lot more.”
On June 3, 2025, he urged action on national security matters by requesting an investigation into the Muslim Brotherhood. He tweeted: “I’m urging the President to conduct a comprehensive investigation to designate the Muslim Brotherhood a Foreign Terrorist Organization. Its history of promoting extremist ideologies and terrorist activities through affiliates like Hamas threatens our national & global security.”
Jared Moskowitz was born in Coral Springs, Florida in 1980 and resides in Parkland. He graduated from George Washington University with a BA in 2003 and earned his JD from Nova Southeastern University in 2007.
