Later that day, Cherfilus-McCormick addressed concerns regarding social security and its impact on her constituents. Referring to an individual from Pompano Beach, she conveyed on Twitter how the potential reduction in social security benefits is causing anxiety over prescription costs. She pledged her ongoing dedication, writing, “In DC, I’ll keep fighting relentlessly to make sure that James and other #FL20 seniors can retire with dignity.”
Additionally, Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick conducted a town hall in Deerfield Beach, focusing on the cost-of-living crisis and safeguarding essential programs. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, 44, was born in Brooklyn, New York, and resides in Miramar. She earned her BA from Howard University in 2001 and a JD from St. Thomas University in 2010, before beginning her political career in the Florida House of Representatives.
