The following day, LaMarca continued his outreach with another post: “To all affected @SpiritAirlines employees, please see the resources below from @FLACommerce to learn more about your career options. Spirit employees in Florida affected by this layoff may call 800-385-3920, Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm (EST), if they need assistance filing a”. The tweet included information about contacting the Florida Department of Commerce for help with unemployment claims and exploring new employment opportunities.

On May 6, LaMarca offered commentary on the situation with a third post: “Sorry to residents in my birth state, but decades of anti-business policies have consequences. #FreeStateOfFlorida”. This statement referenced long-term economic policy decisions affecting business environments outside Florida.

Spirit Airlines has faced financial difficulties leading to workforce reductions in several states. In response to these layoffs, organizations like CareerSource Broward and the Florida Department of Commerce provide support services such as job counseling and assistance with unemployment benefits for displaced workers.
