Later that day, she tweeted about the importance of the U.S.-Africa partnership. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick has been an active member of Congress since succeeding Alcee Hastings in 2022. Born in Brooklyn in 1979 and currently residing in Miramar, she holds degrees from Howard University and St. Thomas University.
