County Administrator Monica Cepero announced today the promotion of Kimm Campbell to Deputy County Administrator. Since 2019, Campbell has served in the County Administrator’s Office as Assistant County Administrator. As Deputy, she will continue to work with Cepero on critical issues and decisions to keep Broward County moving forward.
In the last three years, Campbell has served as the County Administrator’s liaison and has had a variety of agency assignments overseeing several community initiatives to improve the quality of life of residents including Human Services, Libraries, Parks, Cultural, Intergovernmental Affairs and Office of Economic and Small Business Development. She also serves as the liaison with several of the Constitutional Officers and the Broward Municipal Services District.
“Kimm brings sound and thoughtful judgment and perspective to our leadership team. Her passion for Broward County and commitment to the residents of our community complements and supports the values of the organization,” said Cepero.
Campbell has provided leadership for the development of major initiatives in Broward County including Civil Citation and Predisposition Services, the Broward County Dismantling Racism Initiative, and the Race Equity in Child Welfare Taskforce, among others. She is invested in identifying and leveraging synergies across County programs. She represents the County on the Coordinating Council of Broward and the Broward Behavioral Health Care Board of Directors.
Campbell previously served as Director of Broward’s Human Services Department where she also led three offices and five divisions overseeing more than 600 direct service and administrative professionals. This included working with a mix of direct services and contract service agencies reaching tens of thousands of Broward County residents.
Campbell is most passionate about creating equitable access to quality services for all and approaches her work from this perspective to create lasting community change.
Campbell holds a master’s degree and clinical licensure in social work and has more than 25 years of extensive experience in public administration within state and local governments, as well as in non-profit settings.
